KEROSENE

Kerosene is a liquid fuel derived from petroleum that is widely used in Ghana for domestic purposes such as cooking, lighting and heating. Kerosene is also used as a solvent, lubricant and industrial feedstock. According to the Ghana Statistical Service, kerosene accounted for 3.4% of the total energy consumption in Ghana in 2019. The main sources of kerosene supply in Ghana are the Tema Oil Refinery, which produces about 45,000 metric tonnes per year, and imports from neighbouring countries such as Nigeria and Ivory Coast.
